From the westernmost foothills of Sierra Morena to the Atlantic coast, the traveler who enters the province of Huelva enjoys, under a bright sky, of a prodigal and delicate nature. The climate of the mountains, wet and smooth, softens the high temperatures of summer and the rigors of winter. The center, hotter and drier, cools off with the sunset sea breezes.

We start our three-day route through Huelva in the heart of the capital, where a few meters to the west we will find the San Pedro Parish Church (1) and the Santa Iglesia Catedral de la Merced (2), our first goals of the day. The first, baroque style, it is the oldest church in the city (its construction dates from the 15th and 16th centuries), and it replaced a primitive Mudejar mosque. And the second, the Cathedral of La Merced, It is the headquarters of the diocesan council and National Monument. Both deserve a good stop to visit their surroundings.
We will continue north along Avenida de Manuel Siurot, that converges with San Antonio and Santa Marta avenues until reaching the Moret Park (3), a great natural expanse of 72 hectares where you can enjoy a pleasant walk among groves.
The rest of the time we will spend to search the north of the capital, where we will give freedom of visit to other enclaves such as Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Ribbon (4) or take a walk by Caño de Retamar Promenade (5), among others.

On the second day we will meet again in the Parroquia Mayor de San Pedro to change the route to the south of the capital. We will go down Calle Ginés Martín straight ahead until we find the Nuns Square (1), one of the busiest spaces located in the historic center.
We will cross it and continue along Avenida Martín Pinzón where we will stop to appreciate the Columbus statues (2) ( and his house), and the Virgen del Rocío (3), built in honor of the discoverer of America and one of the Brotherhoods par excellence of Huelva.
We finish at the end of Avenida Martín Pinzón and we will deviate a few meters east through Alameda Sundheim to make a well-deserved visit to the Huelva Museum (4), containing Archeology exhibits, Fine Arts and Ethnography of the cultural heritage of the province.
We will retrace our steps to the west a bit and we will pull along Avenida Italia and Calle Presidente Adolfo Suárez until we reach the Tinto dock (5), key landing site of the mining company "Rio Tinto Company Limited".
Once we finish admiring the views that it leaves us, we will start a steep descent down Avenida Francisco Montenegro (advisable by car) to the lowest point of the capital, although worthwhile: The Monument to the Discovering Faith of Columbus (6), huge statue of the great tycoon that divides the Rio Odiel del Tinto.

We will reserve the third and last day to visit the surroundings of Huelva, where we will take a tour, in the south of the capital, that will surround the tributaries par excellence that pass through the province: the Odiel and Tinto rivers.
We will start with Marismas del Odiel (1), located at the mouth of the river, famous for its wide variety of natural maritime landscapes and for its protection of birds, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
Once we admire this beautiful natural setting, we will continue northeast towards Palos de la Frontera (2), one of the cities closest to the capital that crosses the Tinto river. It is known as the cradle of the Discovery of America, it was the first destination of Christopher Columbus. If you want to know more about its history, we will not be able to forget to go through it Monastery of La Rabida (3) or the Dock of the Caravels (4).
Finally we will move further up the map and we will stop in the pleasant municipality of Moguer (5), where we will spend the rest of the day and our tourist route in discovering other important points of interest of the trip of Columbus and of the Nobel writer and poet Juan Ramón Jiménez, author of the legendary “Platero y yo”.
